How to make delicious cinnamon buns

Ingredients Needed

To make mouthwatering cinnamon buns, you’ll need the following ingredients:
1. 4 cups of all-purpose flour
2. 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
3. 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, softened
4. 1 cup of warm milk
5. 1 egg
6. 1 package of instant yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
7. 1 teaspoon of salt
8. 1/4 cup of butter, melted (for filling)
9. 1/2 cup of brown sugar (for filling)
10. 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon (for filling)

Preparing the Dough

1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
2. Add in the egg and softened butter, mixing well.
3. Gradually add in the flour and salt, mixing until the dough begins to come together.
4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until it has doubled in size.

Preparing the Filling

1. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon.
2. Melt the butter and set it aside.

Assembling the Cinnamon Buns

1. Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air.
2. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
3. Brush the melted butter over the surface of the dough.
4. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
5. Starting from one of the longer edges, roll the dough tightly into a log.
6. Cut the log into even slices, about 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick.

Baking the Cinnamon Buns

1. Place the slices in a greased baking dish, leaving a little space between each bun.
2. Cover the dish with a damp cloth and let the buns rise again for about 30 minutes.
3. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
4. Bake the buns in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Adding the Glaze

1. While the buns are baking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until it reaches your desired consistency.
2. Once the buns are out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes before drizzling the glaze over the top.
